Ontario Ministry of Education (2016) Conducted evaluation of the impact of the Ministry’s Equity and Inclusion Education Strategy through a content analysis of a large set of documents.

Continuing Education in School Boards Association/Ministry of Education (2010-2016) Building evaluation capacity by coaching school administrators in action research activity across the province. Developed surveys for use across all boards.

Ontario Ministry of Education (2012-2015) Conducted a 3 year mixed method longitudinal evaluation of the New Teachers Induction Program.

Rockefeller University Hospital Center for Clinical and Translational Science, NIH Clinical Center (US, 2014, 2015). Conducted two consecutive rigorous analyses of focus group data to inform the creation of decision aid for psoriasis patients.

Best Practice Guideline eLearning Evaluation, Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (2014-2015) Evaluated the validity, applicability, and usability of an eLearning course across a range of health-care sectors. Also developed an evaluation plan for the Guideline initiative.

Ontario Ministry of Education (2013) Collaborated on an evaluation of the Knowledge Network for Applied Education Research, Ontario Ministry of Education.

Rockefeller University Hospital Center for Clinical and Translational Science, NIH Clinical Center (2012-13. Performed a rigorous analysis of focus group data about volunteers’ experience in clinical research.

Health Quality of Ontario (2012) Collaborated on a province-wide summative evaluation of HQO’s Quality Improvement and Innovation Partnership initiative in primary healthcare settings.

Sudbury District Catholic School Board (2012) Conducted survey of adult students to develop a profile and assess needs.

Ontario Ministry of Education, Adult Education Strategic Policy Branch (2012) Conducted a qualitative evaluation of School Improvement Planning action research activity 2010-2012.

Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board (2011) Analyzed and reported on survey data for several stakeholder groups in a strategic planning study.

Health Quality of Ontario (2011) Conducted a province-wide formative evaluation of HQO’s Quality Improvement and Innovation Partnership initiative in primary healthcare settings.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health (2010-2011) Created a comprehensive community picture including a regional scan of preventative health policies, and a compilation of demographic and health statistics. Presented results to stakeholders in three community consultation workshops.

Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (2010-2011) Conducted an evaluation of the Build IT. Program, which assists employers in York Region to recruit and retain internationally trained IT professionals.Peel District School Board Parent Involvement Study – (2009-2010) Conducted a study on parent involvement, including 18 parent focus groups conducted in seven languages and three focus groups with principals.

Peel District School Board Student Leadership for Global Development – (2009-2010) Designed study and supervised PDSB staff on a multi-method impact evaluation of programsThe study was conducted in a highly participatory manner, building evaluation capacity within the Board.

Rockefeller University Hospital Center for Clinical and Translational Science, NIH Clinical Center and NRC Picker (2009) Performed a rigorous analysis of data from 18 focus groups regarding participants’ experience in clinical research across a number of health research institutes in the US. The findings were used as a basis for a survey to be administered regularly to clinical research participants in a consortium of research centres.

Peel District School Board (2007 to 2009) Making My Way – Investigated parent, student and educator attitudes about pathway planning. Methods included both surveys and focus groups in several languages. Worked closely with settlement workers and PDSB staff to conduct this award-winning study.

St. Lucia Roving Caregiver Program (longitudinal 2006 to 2009) Played a major role in designing and executing the qualitative arm of a longitudinal, quasi-experimental study in St Lucia.  This impact study of a home visitation program for child development involved training local data collectors and analyzing a vast amount of qualitative data over four years.

Simcoe County Children’s Aid Society (2008) Analyzed qualitative data for a CAS Legal Services Evaluation leading to recommendations for policy change.

COSTI Immigrant Services York Region (2008) Conducted a demographic analysis and environmental scan regarding newcomers in York Region. Delivered three community presentations.

Barrie Community Family Health Team (2008) Designed study and led students a qualitative study to assess views of doctors, nurses and patients on a smoking cessation program.

County of Simcoe Learning, Earning, and Parenting Program, (2007) Designed study and led students a multi-method study to explore the impact of an education support program for teen parents.

The Learning Partnership, The Ontario Directors of Education Institute (2007) Evaluated a training institute for Directors of Education, presented by The Learning Partnership in association with the Rotman Institute, Toronto.

The Learning Partnership, Canada’s Outstanding Principals Conference (2006) Evaluated a national training institute for outstanding elementary and secondary school principals, presented by The Learning Partnership and The Canadian Association of Principals, in association with the Rotman Institute, Toronto.

Adult Diabetes Care, Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie (2006) Designed study and led students a multi-method study to document patient experiences with diabetes care, via observations, focus groups and interviews.

Public Health Agency of Canada, Simcoe District County Health and Middlesex-London Unit (2005) Evaluated two in-service educational programs in epidemiology provided online by the Public Health Agency of Canada for Health Units.

“Making Ends Meet” Poverty Study Simcoe County (2004) Designed study and led students a multi-method study in partnership with Child, Youth and Family Services Coalition to investigate gaps in services. Established and worked with Coalition advisory committee to guide study and utilize results.

“A New Perspective on Poverty in the Caribbean; A Qualitative Approach” Caribbean Development Bank (2004) Analyzed a vast quantity of qualitative data collected across six Eastern Caribbean countries, including results from focus groups, community meetings, and key informant interviews. Presented the findings and participated in planning discussions at Caribbean Development Bank’s regional conference on poverty reduction in Barbados, with eight development partners and eighteen countries in attendance.

Simcoe County Children’s Aid Society (2003) Consulted on a county-wide study comparing two service models. Study included the development of indicators, examination of records, focus groups, and client phone survey. Guided internal research committee through all stages of the study.

Toronto Sick Children’s Hospital (2001-2002) Conducted Connections, a county-wide study for Community Research Project of the Parenting Alliance. This was a multi-method assessment of parenting needs in Simcoe County.

Barrie School Breakfast Programs (2000) Designed study and led students in a multi-method evaluation of programs in five schools. Included observations, parent and child surveys, focus groups with principals and volunteers, and in-depth interviews with teachers.
